MODERN FARMER MAGAZINE

Last year, right before Christmas I was contacted by Modern Farmer Magazine to create four pieces, two book pieces and two vignettes, about farming for the Spring 2017 issue.  The article I made the work for is about a new book called "Letters To A Young Farmer".  I had such a blast making these pieces and photographing Skinny from Lowland Farms and John Warren from Spade & Clover.  Both farmers specialize in heirloom seed varieties and utilizing crop rotation.  I admire these men greatly for their dedication to the land and all their hard work bringing beautiful and delicious produce to Charleston, SC.   I used as many natural and farm related materials as possible for these commissions...carrot greens, seeds, seed packets, grain stocks, garlic skin, dried dill flowers and vintage papers with floral designs.  Scroll down to see all the pieces I made!

CHARLESTON SUPPORTED ART REVEAL

I finally get to let you know what I created for Charleston Supported Art.  Here are the four designs I made.  Each piece includes a gelatin silver print that has been stained with coffee with various natural and synthetic materials.
